They had 9 children, all were born on Camden Farm, where James was worki ng for the Macarthurs. All the children were baptised at St John's Chur ch of England at Camden.
Their children were William Henry, Sarah Emma (Dolly), Mary Jane, Amy Eliz abeth, Alice Maude, Annie Ethel, Emily Grace, Ellen May and Edward James T homas.
Mary died in 1886 and is buried in St. John's Anglican Church graveya rd in Camden with infant son Edward James. We assume she died as a resu lt of childbirth. She died a week after Edward James was bor>
n and he died a month later.
Children of James and Mary were - Bill, Dolly (Mrs Leukel), Amy (Mrs G. Sc hneider), Annie (Mrs R. Knapp), Emily (Mrs D. Saville) and Nelly (Mrs W. N ewton). Info from Bruce Wilson's book.
He was on the committee of the Camden Show and was also an aldrman in t he Camden Shire Council.
The 1st meeting of the Camden Council was held on 24th Apr 1889. James w as one of the Aldermen that made up this Council.
m. 2nd wife Eliza Wilson, a widow. Marriage Index 3092/1898. In the "Hayt er Family" book p8 it says they were married on 12 Apr 1896.
Jim came from Camden to the Kyogle district in 1898. He first lived at Ba ck Creek. Later he bought Charlie Heatley's selection at Eden Creek, a nd lived there for many years before retiring to Geneva.>
Two of his nephews, Billy and Walter, came to Horsestation Creek from Newr ybar. They bought a number of properties at Horsestation Creek and Eden Cr eek. They also owned a butcher's shop in Kyogle near>
the Post Office.
The Hayters were good cricketers and later lawn bowlers.
James died 2 weeks after his 2nd wife Eliza. Both are buried in the Chur ch of England Section of the Kyogle Cemetery.
